Alverde is a brand I haven’t tried many things of, besides a concealer and a foundation some time ago. I’m a sucker for packaging and usually their packaging is a little dull, green (their products are organic), so I’m usually not very attracted to their products. I know it’s a bad reason, but when I saw this cleansing powder in this cute package, I thought it was time to get it for a review, and this might be a really good start!
This cleansing powder is part of the Fabulous Fifties Limited Collection from Alverde. Look at those cute products! I was strong though and got only 1 thing that I needed.
Some ingredients are: Sodium Cocoa Sulfate (a gentle cleanser, way less aggressive than Sodium Laureth Sulfate), Zea Mays Starch, Papaver Rhoeas Flower Extract, Geraniol. Also there’s perfume in it, which I think they could’ve skipped but ok, it’s at the end of the ingredient list so it should be very little.
This is how it works: Put a small amount of powder on your hands, add a few drops of water, rub your hands together until it gets a little foamy, and wash your face with it.
You can feel a tiny little bit of “peeling” when you rub it onto your face, which is actually very nice and really gentle. I have the feeling that it does the job, my face is clean but not squeaky clean, just the way I like it. Also it doesn’t dry out my skin, which is a big plus. On the package it says that it’s suitable for normal to greasy skin, but I’d say I have dry to normal skin and I’m really satisfied with it.
Overall I would recommend it, it’s a fun product, not expensive, and it does it’s job perfectly. Also it’s great to take with you when you travel because it’s lightweight, and not fluid so you can even put it in your hand luggage, win win!
Alverde products are available at DM and costs €3,95.
