Paula’s Choice Skin perfecting 1% BHA lotion salicylic acid

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting BHA Lotion Salicylic Acid

This is a product I’ve been using for over 6 months already, the Paula’s Choice 1% BHA lotion (salicylic acid) and I know that it’s a relatively unknown type of product, so I thought I might give you a quick review on this. Keep on reading if you’re interested in when and how to use this product.

I started using this product because I heard it can get rid off little skin imperfections like blackheads, enlarged pores, little bumps or pimples. It’s appropriate for sensitive skin, just be sure to protect your face afterwards with a sunscreen because it IS an exfoliator, so it does increase your skin sensitivity for the sun. This is the reason why I only use it at night (1-3 times a week) before I go to sleep, and not in the morning, just to be sure.

This is what the back of the products reads (how to use it):

Apply a small amount on cleansed and toned skin once or twice daily. Apply over the entire face, avoiding direct contact with eyes and lips. Follow with any of the Paula’s choice skin-care products appropriate for your skin type. During the day, be sure to use a sunscreen or foundation and pressed powder with sunscreen rated SPF 15 or greater.

So just apply a small amount, like 1 little pump, onto your skin after you’ve cleansed your face but before you moisturise.

I love that it comes into a pump bottle, because it hygienic and it’s easy to get the exact right amount.

This is what the product looks like, it’s a thin lotion that soaks right into the skin within a minute after applying. It doesn’t smell great, a little bit like a medicine, but it kind of is a medicine, right? ;-)

So I only use this when I feel like my skin could need a little help. For example when I feel like I have more blackheads on my nose than usual, or when I have little bumps on my forehead. And I feel like it really helps! I just use it as a treatment like I said before no more than 1-3 times a week, so one bottle will last forever.
